  1. Hello,
I enjoyed your Long Trail and John Muir Trail photos. This year I hiked both the JMT in July and the LT in August/September…it is fun to reminisce with your pictures. One of your pictures in the JMT group mentions the Thousand Island Lake or another lake (I don’t remember what you called the other lake) but your photo is of the Thousand Island Lake with Banner Peak in the background. An Ansel Adams favorite!
When hiking sobo on the Long Trail someone had mentioned the Triple Tiara…hiking the LT the JMT and the Colorado Trail. I had never heard of it! So I do believe I may just have to do the Colorado Trail next year. A trail I was already looking into.
I look forward to hearing your presentation at the Great Miami Outfitters in Ohio this coming January.
Thank you again for your photos and your blog.
    Yvonne

    1. Thanks for the kind words. I’d never heard it called the Triple Tiara either, but if you liked the other two, (and who wouldn’t) you’ll definitely like the CT.

The other lake is Garnet Lake which also backs up to Banner Peak. The scene there looks a lot like Thousand Island Lake, just with fewer islands.

      Take care,

      Jim
